I've done lots of freezer paper stenciling over the last few years, and lots of applique, but I've never really combined the two until now (except for this way). Here's a sweet little girl, made with love, fabric paint, and fabric scraps, for a friend who turned five recently.
I found the idea for this shirt in a mini Boden catalog, so can't take credit for it, but love it anyway. Maia has already requested a similar one for herself.
Here's a view of the feet. I made the skirt rather longer than I meant, so they're hard to see. Next time I would shorten the skirt and make a full-body freezer paper stencil rather than just head, arms, feet.
Maia made a card on matching blue paper to go with the t-shirt.
By the way, we are still in sickie land here and everything is getting done a little slower than usual. We spent yesterday afternoon at the doctor's office and found out that the kids have three ear infections between the two of them. Ugh. But I just bought some liquid vitamin D, other wellness supplements, and some elderberries (to make elderberry syrup!) and plan to be healthy for the rest of the season! One can hope anyway. Thank you for all of your well wishes and advice!
